PMRG Education Committee

I.          The Second Annual Meeting of The PMRG Institute
a.    Work with the Program Committee to ensure smooth implementation of The Second Annual Meeting of The PMRG Institute and agree upon a theme for the meeting; Education will manage the agenda (that is, presentations and presenters) and Program will manage the theme, social events/networking, general event planning/logistics
b.    Develop and implement the “Call for Presentations”
c.    In collaboration with the Program Committee, re-evaluate criteria for presentation evaluations to ensure applicability to decisions related to The PMRG Institute
d.    Adjudicate abstracts submitted for the Annual Meeting of The PMRG Institute in an unbiased way using pre-determined criteria and create a feedback loop to communicate final abstract decisions and rationale 
e.    Work with the presenters to ensure quality presentations and educational content
II.         2009 ANC’s Sunday afternoon educational content and speakers
a.    Create “The PMRG Institute at the ANC” program to replace current ad-hoc “Sunday Education Sessions”; name to be decided
III.        Obtain membership input about the types of education programs desired from PMRG
a.    Conduct lunch time interviews at the 2008 ANC with members to obtain their input for PMRG education objectives and program ideas
b.    Conduct Telephone Interviews or IDIs with members to obtain their input for PMRG education objectives and program ideas
c.    Build Education Plan based on member input
IV.        Create recommendation to the ED to be delivered by the June Board Meeting regarding certification program partnership opportunities
a.    A list of recommended partners will be developed by the fall Board Meeting
V.                   Implement one viable web-based program or webinar for membership
a.   If feasible, develop and rollout a web-based program to the membership
b.   If web-based program is not identified, conduct one webinar for the membership
VI.         Explore the OC as a training vehicle
a.    Work with Roe and the software vendor to understand the capabilities of the OC as a potential training vehicle
b.    Determine if the membership would utilize the OC as a training vehicle
c.    Create recommendation for 2009 activities based on findings
Steps V and VI are predicated on the Education Committee’s recommending that the PMRG develop its own programs rather than “outsourcing” to programs given the “PMRG Seal of Approval.” This issue is a topic of ongoing discussion and debate among the Education Committee members.
